Shipping Policy
I. For Domestic Shipping
a. Delivery Charges and Fees
A flat rate of S$5.00 delivery charge (inclusive of GST) will be applicable to each order with the exception of “Cooking for the President”.
b. Delivery Charge for Items Except “Cooking for the President”
For "Cooking for the President", please refer to the table below for the calculation of shipping charges:
For eg. If you purchase 3 "Cooking for the President" books: (S$118 x 3) + S$33 = S$387 (inclusive of GST)
B. Delivery
Delivery is only available to valid addresses in mainland Singapore excluding P.O. Boxes, and the areas mentioned below. SMU shall not be held liable if delivery is already initiated and the address provided was incorrect, or the authorized recipient is unavailable for acceptance of delivery. Our delivery partner will contact you to arrange for a re-delivery. There will be no charges imposed for such re-delivery for the first attempt, subsequent attempts will be charged at S$5.00 per trip. If the recipient refuses to accept the shipment or make payment, The SMU Shop shall be entitled to destroy, dispose or sell the shipment to others without any refund.
Apart from orders for “Cooking for the President” books, if there is more than one product in an order, the products may be delivered in one or more packages. However, there will be only one delivery charge as it is considered as one order.
Your order will be delivered within three (3) working days after the date the order was made, provided the order was received before 12pm on a working day. Any orders received after 12pm on a working day will be considered as the next day’s order.
Should there be an occasion where we are unable to fulfil an item in your order, you will receive an email, informing you of the shortage. In such a case, we will make a refund of the value of the unfulfilled items via your credit card within thirty (30) days of our notification. Do reach out to us at thesmushop@smu.edu.sg should you not receive your full order within five (5) working days.
We will notify you if we expect to be unable to meet our estimated delivery time or date for any reason, but to the extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage due to, or arising out of or in connection with such delay in delivery. In addition, we shall not be liable for any delivery failures or delays by our third party delivery contractor.
Delivery of an order shall be completed when we deliver to the Singapore address stated in your order, regardless of the person who takes delivery, upon which title and risk in the product(s) shall pass to you.
Please note that there are a few restricted areas to which we cannot deliver to. Read through the lists below for more details.

C. Returns and Exchange
We accept returns up to seven (7) days of receipt of order if an item is clearly defective, unused and in its original condition, including item tags and packaging, and we will refund the full order amount minus the shipping cost for the return.
In the event that your order arrives damaged, incorrect or incomplete in any way, please email us as soon as possible at thesmushop@smu.edu.sg with your order number and a photo of the order’s condition and quantity. We address this on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
II. For International Shipping:
A. Charges and Fees
Shipping charges for international orders will be calculated and displayed at checkout. All amounts reflected will be in Singapore Dollars.
Your order maybe subject to import duties and applicable taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. SMU shall not be responsible for these charges if they are applied and it is solely your responsibility as the customer to make payment to such charges.

Your order will be processed within after the date the order was made, provided the order was received before 12pm (Singapore time) on a working day. Any orders received after 12pm (Singapore time) on a working day will be considered as the next day’s order.
